Not your typical drug taker

Crack-smoking former bank chief Paul Flowers says sorry

The Methodist minister who chaired the Co-operative Bank during its near-collapse has apologised after being caught on camera buying crack cocaine and crystal meth.
Paul Flowers, 63, who texted a friend to say that he was “snorting some good stuff” on the day he was due to appear before the Treasury Select Committee about the bank’s downfall, said that he had turned to drugs because of a family bereavement. The Methodist Church said that it would work with police if a crime was thought to have been committed.
